Methodology & Sources
The work of Or HaZeev relies on attentive study of traditional Jewish sources, combined with a structured and pedagogical approach.
Texts from the Tanakh constitute the main foundation. They are enriched by teachings from the Midrash, Talmud, and classical Rabbinic literature, as well as elements from exegetical tradition and communal minhagim. Each theme is approached with fidelity to the sources, ensuring clear distinction between biblical text, midrashic interpretation, and later traditions.
The project also places particular importance on chronology and historical coherence. Events are placed within a precise temporal structure, allowing for better understanding of connections between different periods and figures.
Pedagogically, the methodology prioritizes:
- Clarity of narrative,
- Structuring of information,
- Articulation between text, image, and chronology,
- And an opening towards in-depth study.
Or HaZeev does not seek to replace traditional study, but to become a visual and structured gateway to it, inviting deeper learning and reflection.
